StreamFold has given a big boost to semi-commercial business at Webprint Concepts Limited.

Hinwil, 29 April 2011 – Five years ago Webprint Concepts Limited (Ireland) commenced operations as a new company. 17 daily and weekly newspapers from media group Thomas Crosbie Holdings plus jobs for the Dublin People Group and advertising title Buy & Sell are produced in the printing centre in Mahon Retail Park, outside Cork.

Up to a year ago, weekly print runs totalled a maximum of 2.5 million copies. After the two Ferag inserting lines were upgraded with a StreamFold quarterfold component in September 2010, the situation changed. Head of Operations Michael O’Brien is pleased to announce that “this investment was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our weekly peaks quickly rose to three million, and we expect that number to increase further”. He goes on to say: “We rate the potential for quarterfold production at 1.5 to 2 million copies per week. That amounts to half the production volume or around 25% of turnover.”

The newly installed StreamFold is integrated into the system to allow it to be used by both inserting lines. Next to inline processing via the UTR conveyor, quarterfold production is also possible in offline mode with manual infeeding of the products off a JetFeeder hopper.
