Summary

Young people buy fewer newspapers and spend less time reading them than older generations. That is true in many countries of the world. Editors and managers work hard to increase the appeal of their titles to younger readers, which is, of course, essential to attract the advertising aimed at this generation. It is still received wisdom in many parts of the industry that generations will acquire the serious reading habit as they grow older. But this view may be misplaced: as people of all  generations get older, they tend to read less.
