Syrischer Karikaturist erhält Gebran-Tueni-Preis

Der renommierte syrische Karikaturist Ali Ferzat, der mit seinen weltweit veröffentlichten satirischen Zeichnungen Korruption verurteilt und Diktatoren zur Zielscheibe des Spotts macht, ist der diesjährige Preisträger des Gebran Tueni Award. Mit diesem alljährlich vom Weltverband der Zeitungen und Nachrichtenmedien (WAN-IFRA) verliehenen Preis werden herausragende Persönlichkeiten aus dem Nachrichtensektor im arabischen Raum ausgezeichnet.

El reputado caricaturista sirio Ali Farzat, cuyas ilustraciones satíricas publicadas en todo el mundo son claras denuncias de la corrupción y el poder dictatorial que oprimen al país, ha recibido el galardón Gebran Tueni Award 2012, premio que la Asociación Mundial de Periódicos y Editores de Noticias (WAN-IFRA) concede cada año para homenajear a una figura excepcional del mundo mediático árabe.

Un caricaturiste syrien remporte le prix Gebran Tuéni

Le célèbre caricaturiste syrien Ali Farzat dont les dessins satiriques condamnant la corruption et se moquant des dictateurs ont été publiés dans le monde entier a remporté le prix Gebran Tuéni en 2012. Ce prix est décerné tous les ans par l’Association mondiale des journaux et des médias d’information (WAN-IFRA) à une personne exceptionnelle du monde des médias dans les pays arabes.

Syrian Cartoonist Wins Gebran Tueni Prize

Renowned Syrian cartoonist Ali Farzat, whose satirical drawings targeting corruption and lampooning dictators have been published worldwide, has been awarded the 2012 Gebran Tueni Award, the annual prize of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) that honours an outstanding individual from the news media in the Arab region.

Homage to Ghassan Tueni, 1926 - 2012

The passing of “one of the last titans of an era that is indelibly imprinted with his name and signature” – a sentiment expressed by his granddaughter Nayla but echoed in the hearts of all who knew him – is noted with particular sobriety by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers given the strong ties between the organisation and the Tueni family from over three decades of close collaboration.
