Bali Safety Training Helps Journalists Battle the Elements

Indonesia is a place of great beauty, but its location on the Ring of Fire makes it especially prone to natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis. In addition, the string of islands also faces conflict due to its wealth of ethnic and religious diversity. In early April, over a dozen journalists gathered for a training in Bali to discuss comprehensive strategies for safe reporting.

World's Press Condemns Killing of Journalist Lyra McKee

WAN-IFRA has called on Northern Ireland's political leaders to do everything possible to ensure Ms McKee’s murderer is swiftly brought to justice. "Identifying and prosecuting the killer - and those who facilitated the violence that led to Ms McKee’s death - will deliver a clear statement that the safety of journalists is a priority and that there is no impunity for anyone committing such an act."
