28.02.11 - Russia’s largest state news agency, RIA Novosti, plans to significantly expand its audience in social networking sites by making the existing channels in Twitter and Facebook more informative and diversified, as well as launch new services.

The foreign-language Twitter and Facebook communities, currently available in English, German, Spanish and French, are to feature links and previews of about 10-15 of the most interesting items from RIA Novosti’s foreign-language websites daily, including photo galleries, video, infographics and analyses.

"We also plan to enter local social networking sites with our multimedia content, for example, the Maktoob network in Arabic, Tuenti in Spanish, t.sina.com.cn and Renren in Chinese, and others,” RIA Novosti Deputy Editor-in-Chief Leonid Burmistrov said.

In addition, The Moscow News paper issued by RIA Novosti will launch its Arabic-language group on Twitter and Facebook under the Anbaa Moscu brand.
